Distribution of Chinemys reevesi in British Columbia in British Columbia

Introduction

The Asiatic Turtle, or Reeves Turtle, is an introduced semi-aquatic species in British Columbia. There is a single published record of this species in the province, from McCoy Lake near Port Alberni and, although there are no recent records, it is possible that a population may persist on Vancouver Island because the region is climatically similar to the species native climate (Matsuda et al. 2006).
